Daniel Radcliffe checked a restaurant review for The New Yorker

Daniel Radcliffe went a nice way for his latest role, which sees him playing a facts checker in magazines.
In his new Broadway play, The Lifespan of a Fact, 29-year-old Harry Potter shines as Jim Fingal, a trainee for The Believer magazine charged with checking facts and essays by John D & # 39; Agata – what led to a long time back and forth about the values of truth and creative license.
Between the shows, Radcliffe took the time to stop at the New Yorker offices in New York City, where he went squatting and did the tedious task of actually checking a piece for the publication.

Radcliffe's new play is based on a book of the same title and looks at the true story of Fingal and D & # 39; Agata & # 39; s disagreements about the essay in question, which concerned the suicide culture in Las Vegas.
The piece was originally put into use in 2003, but was only published in 2010. The book, which contains all fact-checking notes from Fingal, as well as D & # 39; Agata's rebuttals, was published in 2012.
While doing previews of the show, the actor visited The New Yorker to check his own article.
In collaboration with Peter Canby's main fact-checker, the magazine, he learned the art of checking a piece by giving a review of a Mexican restaurant in Greenpoint, Brooklyn called Oxomoco.
Canby walked him through the steps and showed him how he underlined everything that a & controllable fact & # 39; used to be.
Under the supervision of another fact-checker, Radcliffe verified whatever he could on the restaurant's website.
Then, at 11 o'clock, he called the chef of the restaurant, Justin Bazdarich, to beat the list.
I'm more nervous about this than I'm planning on the stage tonight, & # 39; said the star.
The real deal: he was led by professionals from The New Yorker

& # 39; Hello, Justin. I am Dan, in The New Yorker, "he said on the phone. & # 39; Some of these questions will make you feel very dull and prosaic, so endure me. First, your last name: is that spelled as B-A-Z-D-A-R-I-C-H? & # 39;
He went on to ask whether the restaurant does indeed serve guacamole, or whether it has guacamole peppers in adobo and coriander, whether there is a drink called the Paloma, and whether that drink is pale, pink and frothy & # 39; is.
Details: keeping a restaurant review for Brooklyn & # 39; s Oxomoco, he called and asked for ingredients, decor and cooking methods

Bazdarish came back with the answers – usually yes, with a few minor corrections – while Radcliffe continued to print on every detail.
& # 39; Participate: do you also serve a beef-tartare tostada? & # 39; he asked. & # 39; And that has a fried grasshopper on it? & # 39;
He discovered that the grasshopper was actually being roasted over a wood fire and that he wrote it down.
After the telephone conversation ended, Radcliffe seemed relieved and exhaled and exclaimed: "I just checked an article! Nothing I do today will be more difficult than that.
The funny and unexpected report from the New Yorker of the visit has drawn the attention of social media users.
This story about Daniel Radcliffe who looks at the moon in the @NewYorker fact-checking department is very calming & # 39 ;, wrote one.
& # 39; And damn charming & # 39 ;, wrote another.
& # 39; Oh that is delicious & # 39 ;, wrote a third.
Another typed: & # 39; To read about Dan Radcliffe wondering how difficult it is to perform a job fact check, because journalists warm my exhausted heart. & # 39;
